It Must Be Fun to Be a Minke
When you look at the pictures above
when you watch a video clip
when you join us to watch the minkes in the wild
take a moment and try to imagine
everything hidden below the surface.
Imagine the school of fish
responding to the hunter circling,
driving them towards the centre.
Imagine the ten tons of body mass
turning upside down, rolling and twisting
slowly during entrapment manoeuvres
at high speed during engulfing manoeuvres.
In this section we not only want to give you an extract of general knowledge on minke whales. We also want to introduce you to a highly fascinating species and to share what we have learned about their lives.
But before you continue to read please be warned, you may encounter a contagious 'minke virus' in these pages and you might never be cured!
